Top Dawood aide Iqbal Mirchi held in London

Memon Iqbal Mohammed alias Iqbal Mirchi, underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s close aide and an accused in the 1993 serial bomb attacks on Mumbai who is ranked among the top 50 drug barons of the world, was arrested by London Police on Tuesday for a local offence in the UK.

The 61-year-old Mirchi is wanted by Mumbai Police in connection with a number of narcotic drugs-related cases and also for his alleged role in the 1993 serial blasts. An Interpol Red Corner Notice (RCN) has been pending against him since 1994.
