Delhi BJP demands Sheila Dikshit’s ouster
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has its guns trained on Delhi, Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit in the Monsoon Session of the Delhi Assembly. On Monday 29 August, the House was adjourned, only hours into the first day of the Monsoon Session, because BJP MLA’s stormed out shouting slogans and protesting against the power tariff hikes.
The Speaker, Dr Yoganand Shastri, asked Leader of Opposition, Vijay Kumar Malhotra, and other BJP MLA’s to leave the floor of the House because of disruptions during today’s session. Malhotra said, “We will not allow for proceedings to take place unless, Sheila Dikshit’s indictment in the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, and Shunglu Committee report, isn’t discussed.”
